Spring Conference 2013

Fort Vancouver Lions wins many Awards

This year in Lionism was fantastic for the Fort Vancouver Lions.  We took first place in the Website contest and participated in the Tall Tale and Achievement Speeches.  Two members of our club were also awarded the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation award for the hard work put into chartering the LEO Legends this year.  Overall we had a fantastic year in service!

Membership Growth Award

Fort Vancouver Lions won an International Membership Growth Award for the 2011-2012 year.  Our club had the most new member growth in the United States.  Here is an article in the Columbian.

Club Website Award

Fort Vancouver Lions placed 1st in the Club Website contest at the District Convention this year.  The website was created and maintained by Lion Dotty of the Fort Vancouver Lions who regularly updates the information to keep not only the members appraised of what the club is doing, but to also allow the community to see a glimpse of the great projects our club does for the community.

Club Excellence Award

The Fort Vancouver Lions was one of the winners of the Club Excellence award for the year 2011-2012.  There was a set of criteria that the winning clubs had to meet including:

  • Club Retreat for planning the year
  • Service Projects
  • Growth in Membership
  • Donation to LCIF

Achievement Award

Our very own Roy Pulliam presented the winning Achievement speech at the MD-19 convention.  He highlighted the success of the twice yearly concerts we put on at the Washington State School for the Blind here in Vancouver.  Over the years we have earned nearly $100,000 that was donated back into our local community.

Planting Trees

Our club is helping with International President Tam's goal to plant over 1 million trees. FVL club helped with over 4200 trees total.
